Trust flow & Citation flow

SEO: understanding and using trust flow & citation flow

As often, the quality of the content on your site is essential. Indeed, your goal is to create useful content with precise information that meets the needs of the user. With this content, you make your site user-friendly for research and navigation. Once you think your content is good, you need to be able to measure your popularity and influence. For this, two metrics are interesting to look at: the citation flow and the trust flow. These two metrics have become crucial to assess, among other things, the quality of inbound and outbound links, which is a major indicator of the site’s reputation. In this article, we’ll take a look at what exactly citation flow and trust flow are, and how to boost them.

WHAT IS THE QUOTE FLOW?

Over the years, it is not uncommon to see many websites become very influential, such as Google or Facebook for example. These websites not only affect our experience on the Internet, but also have some impact on users in general. This means that well-known websites are more likely to have more impact, which is what Citation Flow is. Citation Flow measures your website’s link popularity, making it an influential website or not. Unlike the Trust Flow which we’ll cover just below, the Citation Flow does not take into account the quality of the backlinks, but rather examines the popularity of the website. This means that even though they have high traffic, they may not contain reliable content. This can include pornographic content or spam,

WHAT IS TRUST FLOW?

Put simply, Trust Flow is the metric that assesses a website’s reliability by looking at its overall quality. While it may seem simple at first glance, there are many factors that need to be taken into account to measure it. One of the crucial factors is how many authoritative links you have on your website. This makes linking to quality websites even more crucial as content marketing requires you to quote or mention a number of reputable websites. This helps generate link juice, thus providing more exploration opportunities for Google.

Trust flow: quantified reliability

The reliability of a website is something that takes a long time to build through the creation of quality content. Producing a steady stream of articles is great, but making sure that these articles always stay in quality should be your main goal. For example, news websites have good trust flow. This is because they provide up-to-date information that has been well researched, as well as links to reliable and verified sources.

Trust flow, essential for linking

While some would say link building is not as important as it has been over the past few years, we believe it is still a crucial process. Linking now allows us to gain traffic and connect to other websites, but it also builds the quality and trust within our own site. Overall, having a good Trust Flow means that you only connect to quality websites and receive a steady stream of traffic. Like a good graduation thesis or a good academic research article, having the best sources is the key ingredient to success.

4 WAYS TO BOOST YOUR TRUST FLOW (AND YOUR SEO)

If you look at the Trust Flow of other sites to gauge backlinking opportunities, other websites are probably doing the same for you. For this reason, your main goal should be to increase your TF. It all comes down to building authoritative, high quality backlinks. Quality is much more important than quantity and contributes much more to increasing your Trust Flow. Here’s how to get started:

Connect with influencers

Connecting with influencers is important when building authoritative backlinks. When looking for influencers, make sure they are active in your niche or industry.

  • Start by researching your top keywords and note the top bloggers, journalists, and personalities that are among the results.
  • Then head to the free Backlink Checker tool to check their Trust Flow.
  • Finally, reach out to these influencers to share your business story, provide great content, or request a backlink. There are many ways to politely request backlinks (and build valuable relationships).

Guest post on high quality sites

Another great way to build authoritative backlinks and achieve better Trust Flow is by guest posting. Similar to finding influencers, when you find a guest posting opportunity, search for the domain through the Backlink Checker tool to check their Trust Flow. If the site has a score of 10 or less, it’s not worth creating content to publish. Second, make sure the allowed links in guest posts are “follow”. If the site does not “follow” the published links, these backlinks will have no impact on your Trust Flow.

Note  : “Nofollow” link opportunities are not completely unnecessary. They will expose your business to a new audience and help you develop your brand image. So don’t rule them out completely!

Internal links

Creating links to internal pages is an easy way to increase your Trust Flow and thus increase your SEO. When creating content and / or blogging for your site, make sure it contains at least five links to other internal pages. A solid homepage will also help with Trust Flow and SEO for any pages linked to it. Not only do internal links help with SEO, but they also help your visitors navigate your website easily.

Continuous auditing of your website’s backlinks doesn’t necessarily help your Trust Flow, but it does keep your score high. As you audit your site’s backlinks and remove toxic links, your Trust Flow will remain high. This high score will tell others that your site is of high quality and worth linking, thus increasing your SEO.
